![]() we all know, that is an extremely unhealthy relationship and it is the basis for all bad things in romance “no you have to come with me i’m not going there” basically putting woody in a terrible situation, but in the end he made the wrong choice, because he left all of his friends (which the timeline shows he has been friends with them for almost 20 years) and he goes with the girl who clearly has no interest in him or how he feels. but she instead holds her ground and puts woody in a situation where he has to leave all of his friends just to be with her. tell me how they are gonna do it without woody? if she really wanted to be with woody, she could have made up a small loss, looked to the real side of things, and go with him and the rest of the characters back to bonnies house. by doing this they managed to make a terrible ending to a good movie, but also make it so that it would be virtually impossible for pixar to make a new toy story. woody has left the entire rest of the gang just to be with her, but she obviously no longer has any interest in him whatsoever. Unless I wanted no friends, a bad temper, zero social skills and a criminal record. I know this is a cartoon, but c’mon, a FIRE? If she wasn’t a Mary-Sue, toys would’ve died, people would’ve died. She doesn’t like it there, so she tried to set the alarms on fire.Īnd all she’s worried about is her sheep. She runs away, only to run into the Antique Store. Too someone who may not pay attention to her, but does not treat her like garbage. They weren’t Sid.īut then they accidentally set off a fire, so she gets sold off. She was giving to two kids, who fought over her, but not violently, they knew they had to be gentle. People say Bo is like this because she’s been through some tough stuff, but I watched Lamp Life, a show about her, but it was utter bull crap. If Bo was truly kind, she would have accepted to help Woody immediately. Does everything have to look perfect to appeal to young girls? I’m a little girl, but my favorite character is Rex, who is not perfect, is self loathing, and a neurotic. She has these ninja moves and stuff, and they’re not necessary. ![]() She’s a Mary-Sue, all she does is act ~perfect~ in everything she does. She’s cold-hearted, when her arm fell off, Woody screamed in shock, only for Bo to laugh in his face, were our poor sheriff is shaking like a leaf. ![]() She left him, twice, but he loves her, so he stays with her. She treats Woody like garbage for no apparent reason. Do you think Bo Peep is a good role model for girls (and boys?) You’re missing more by restricting yourself. It’s scary, sure, but there are so many reasons to head out and explore. She offered this message that it’s okay to step out of the nest. There was excitement, and she shared all about the fun of the adventure. While Woody and the gang had been so fearful of being lost toys, Bo found a freedom within it. This is still Bo Peep, voiced by Annie Potts. Ingham perfectly outlines the core traits that bring out the best in this previously underwritten character, without making her feel like a totally different entity. In the lead up to Toy Story 4, I had a hard time wrapping my head around the writing for Bo Peep, a character who had been relegated to the background in previous films, now elevated to a major role in what is essentially a romantic comedy starring her and Woody. Bo proved that you can be smart, adventurous, and caring all at the same time - and these are all positive traits in a young girl. There was still the story of lost love, but she didn’t just follow her heart. ![]() She gave orders, figured out solutions, and looked out for herself and others. Throughout the movie, we watched Bo take charge. Buzz stutters through his first attempt at flattery, but note that he goes for her personality before her looks. From Alexandria Ingham, writing for Hidden Remote: The toys were adorably awkward around each other, like any real relationship might start. They may be inanimate objects, but something about Jessie and Buzz just works. But their relationship didn’t actually begin until Toy Story 3, when Buzz’s Spanish mode was activated. The romance between Jessie and Buzz wasn’t really introduced until the end of Toy Story 2, when Buzz struggles to flirt with her. But Disney wasn’t so predictable they decided to bring Jessie and Buzz together. It makes sense, putting the cowboy and cowgirl together, especially with Bo Peep suddenly out of the picture. When Jessie was first introduced in Toy Story 2, nearly everyone thought she was going to serve as Woody’s love interest. Pixar’s first special for television, “Toy Story OF TERROR!”. ![]()
